SPLASH/geneSPLASH
A computational environment for individual identification records and associated DNA profiles.
Overview
The SPLASH/geneSPLASH database represents an integration of photo-identification records and DNA profiles from humpback whales in the North Pacific. There are currently 8,489 individuals in the database, recognized by fluke photographs, by DNA profiles or by both sources of identification.
Data Contributors
The SPLASH photo-identification catalog is maintained by Cascadia Research Collective, Olympia, Washington. The geneSPLASH database is maintained by the Cetacean Conservation and Genomics Laboratory at the Marine Mammal Institute, Oregon State University
